The Coalition on Labor Justice for Migrants in the Gulf is excited to announce the launch of its inaugural website, laborjusticegulfmigrants.org. The new website will serve as a hub for global advocacy and action to demand labor justice for migrant workers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
The site will be a centralized location for all of the Coalition’s work – including reports on migrant workers’ rights, advocacy submissions made to multinational and governmental bodies, and updates on Coalition delegations.
Launched in June 2024, the Coalition is an alliance of labor rights organizations, migrant rights organizations, and independent trade unions. Together, we are calling on governments and employers to respect the fundamental human and labor rights of migrant workers in the GCC region throughout recruitment, migration, employment, and return. Bringing together workers, unions, and NGOs, the Coalition will generate transnational solidarity and global pressure to ensure that the needs, rights, and dignity of migrant workers are guaranteed and respected, from the day they are recruited through the day they return home.
Led by Global Labor Justice, Anti-Slavery International, Equidem, the International Domestic Workers Federation, and the Solidarity Center, the Coalition makes advocacy submissions to multilateral institutions, collaborates with workers across migration corridors who are currently or formerly employed in the GCC, and engages in various UN and ILO forums to ensure that the direct perspectives of migrant workers are at the forefront.
